BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical Fort Worth Theatre reviews
Another Derek that plays in NYC - Not the Yankee!
BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical, seen four times now, was my favorite of the four. The band led by Susan is always happy and delivers, and I am a major fan of Derek Trucks guitar playing. I forgot my seat so long ago, I bought at the Beacon, my favorite venue, Row M Orch left center (Derek's side of the stage). Saw Derek with ABB earlier this year a few times - Beacon (of course), Mountain Jam, Peach Fest. Jaimoe joined BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical for a large chunk of the show, love that. The difference on this night seems to be now that the ABB is a wrap, BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical is breaking out of their shadow and taking more liberty to showcase their style. Many top musicians recognize Derek's greatness and we'll be seeing them take future stages as well. Thankfully BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical is a young, energetic, hard-working band, sans ego. Would not be at all surprised to see Butch, Warren, perhaps even Greg make guest appearances if they're around where BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical is playing. Beyond that, we will fortunately always enjoy different derivatives of the ABB. I saw Taj Mahal at Peach Fest and he was great this night as well. Long as they play, I'll buy a ticket and enjoy their shows!
